Odyssey is recruiting for a Senior Systems Engineer supporting Space Systems Command, Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Directorate (SSC/SZQE) at Peterson Space Force Base near Colorado Springs, CO. Odyssey is in search of an experienced professional interested in joining a fast-paced, dynamic team supporting the United States Space Force with the integration of missile warning, missile defense, and space domain awareness, and command & control missions. The technical expert filling this position will be a trusted advisor and consultant to the government that supports government-led modification and capability upgrade efforts in support of the PARCS division of Space Systems Command Strategic Warning and Space Surveillance Directorate. This role is 50% telework for anyone from the Colorado Springs, Co area.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to: Conduct technical assessment/review of Directorate mission programs Interface Control Documents Analyze and present technical findings to identify mission impacts to modernizing the ITW/AA System Track and Integrate prioritized Directorate mission programs for on-time deployment Evaluate technology initiatives for relevancy to Directorate mission programs Coordinate & conduct analysis of proposed ITW/AA changes to technical baseline Participate and assess ITW/AA systems program reviews Support the ITW/AA Enterprise Working Group (IEWG) Monitor future initiatives and technologies Integrate System Engineering lessons learned/best practices crossing multiple programs Serve as liaison officer to ITW/AA systems including C2, Sensor, Network Engineers to enhance communication and effectiveness Review and assess Network Architecture Diagrams Support strategic road-map development utilizing knowledge of mission program schedules Promote Agile methodologies to enhance Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Maintain Directorates work-flow items using collaborative tools, such as Jira and Confluence Articulate system technical parameters and concepts to senior leaders in concise manner Provide concepts and requirements analyses supporting Defense Acquisition System Engineering services such as the following: Capability Development Documents (CDDs) Initial Capability Documents Capability Production Documents (CPDs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Military Utility Assessments (MUAs), Concepts of Operation (CONOPs), Technology Development Strategies, Functional/Physical Configuration Audits Technology Standards Profiles
Qualifications
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret Clearance Certifications: TBD Education: High School Diploma Years of Experience: 20 years of relevant experience including 8 years in the DoD OR, BA/BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Software Development, and 15 years of relevant experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD Masters degree and 12 years of relevant experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD Preferred Qualifications Clearance: Active Top Secret Clearance Certifications: TBD Education: BA/BS degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Software Development Years of experience: 15 years of relevant experience, 5 of which must be in the DoD
