In this job, you will support a team of Measurement Engineers, who oversee engineering solutions' design, development, and implementation for Advanced Utilities Technology. These solutions focus on business-driven, standards-based requirements that follow the engineering National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Smart Grid architecture. You will also provide technical guidance, identify areas for improvement, and create programs of work that support systems such as Advance Metering Infrastructure (AMI), MV90, Operational Technologies (OT), process engineering, and vendor management.

What your day will look like…

  • Leading a team of Measurement Engineers in designing, developing, and implementing engineering solutions for Advanced Utilities Technology, adhering to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Smart Grid architecture

  • Supporting the team with testing strategies/programs, test plans/processes, and systems to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services

  • Providing technical guidance, identifying improvement opportunities, and developing programs supporting systems like AMI, MV-90, Operational Technologies (OT), process engineering, and vendor management

  • Ensuring utility meters meet energy market metering standards

  • Assisting in strategic planning to align goals with department and enterprise initiatives, tracking and reporting accomplishments quarterly

  • Planning, organizing, and reviewing engineering staff assignments, estimating resource needs, and scheduling work to meet technical specifications and deadlines

  • Estimating resource needs and schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications

  • Performing succession planning

  • Strategic planning and goal-setting

  • Developing and coordinating major capital budgets, reviewing monthly reports, and monitoring expenditures, timelines, project deadlines, and supply chain needs

  • Representing the organization in various committees and work groups

  • Providing technical oversight to ensure utility meters and associated systems are meeting energy market metering standards for compliant purposes

Who you are...

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field required

  • Professional-level engineering experience in the discipline related to the area of assignment preferred

  • Leadership experience required

  • Experience and knowledge of utility metering (electric, gas, water) are highly preferred

  • Experience and knowledge with Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) preferred

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build programs of work and solutions to enable key stakeholders

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective relationship-building

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

  • Ability to multitask and complete multiple projects/assignments with competing deadlines
