Summary Description: The Tutt Library Circulation Team Coordinator hires, trains, schedules, and supervises a diverse and energetic group of student employees and also coordinates communication and scheduling among the team of five staff members. The ideal candidate will combine excellent customer service skills with an empathetic and patient supervisory style. Circulation is the busy hub of the library and we seek someone responsible, collaborative, and excited to work with CC students, faculty, and staff members.

Anticipated Salary Range: $18.00 to $20.77 per hour

Responsibilities:

Recruit, interview, hire, train and supervise 15-20 Circulation student assistants and one or more part-time on-call Circulation desk clerks; provide daily work direction; provide scheduling, training and problem-solving assistance; develop comprehensive training programs for all Circulation student workers and part-time Circulation assistants to ensure that policies and procedures are understood, including customer service skills development; collaborate with Circulation staff to implement programs. Coordinates regular student meetings and semiannual staff and student Facilitate communication among team members and provide day-to-day procedural problem-solving; take lead in ensuring clear, consistent Circulation policies are applied; take a primary role in communicating these policies to library staff and library users; keep the department supervisor apprised of department issues. Place materials on reserve as requested by faculty and maintain statistics of reserve material use. Circulate library materials using the library's automated system while maintaining patron privacy and confidential information. Provide other services as necessary at the Circulation desk (e.g., directions, referrals, basic technology help) and contribute to a safe and friendly environment. Required Qualifications:

A minimum of two years related experience; excellent customer service skills; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written; ability to work in a team environment; ability to think critically and act independently; ability to stay calm in emergency situations; ability to balance multiple demands; experience with Windows, Microsoft Office and Web browsers; ability to work flexible shifts, including some evening and weekend work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of college or Associate's degree; supervisory experience; library circulation work experience; group facilitation experience.
