Case Western Reserve University Leadership Programs Manager and WISER Advisor in Cleveland, Ohio

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The Flora Stone Mather Center is a community space and a social incubator advancing women and gender equity through research-informed action. The Leadership Program Manager is responsible for outreach and initiatives which contribute to the growth of programs and services that will support and develop the leadership skills and professional success of students, staff, and faculty at Case Western Reserve University. This position will oversee center efforts to create and expand upon current leadership programs. Through collaboration with other identity and diversity centers, this position will work to better serve women of color, non-binary and trans, and men-identified communities. Additionally, the program manager will participate in university committees and support the work of the Associate Director for Programs. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Manage and advise the student group Women in Science and Engineering Roundtable (WISER) program, including recruitment of and supervision of student leaders, leadership workshops and projects, community outreach, research internship opportunities, and provide speakers, panels, and workshops. Oversee annual banquet, as well as their peer and professional mentoring programs (15%)
  2. Develop new staff and faculty initiatives for Case Western Reserve University professionals, including leading an allyship training for men-identified staff and faculty to improve the climate for women in STEM. (15%)
  3. Oversee and manage the Women Staff Leadership Development Institute, recruit and select participants, plan and update the curriculum as needed, partner with Weatherhead School of Management to manage course registrations, and plan graduation event. (20%)
  4. Develop and lead a 1 to 2 day Women in Entrepreneurship mini-conference, with the support of the Associate Director for Programs, the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship, and other key collaborators. (15%)
  5. Represent the center by attending university and community events, serve on designated university and community committees; may present on work at local, regional, and national conferences. Participate in teambuilding and university professional development opportunities. (10%)
  6. Collect and analyze assessment on participant learning outcomes, program satisfaction, as well as skills, behaviors, and attitude change. Utilize results to recommend center programs, suggest research initiatives, and prepare annual impact report. (10%)
  7. Work with Associate Director for Programs to design and deliver center-wide programming such as Future Faculty Fellows. (10%)

CONTACTS

Department: Daily contact with Associate Director of Programs and Executive Director as well as other center staff for collaboration.

University: Regular contact with the Weatherhead Executive Education and the Veale Institute for Entrepreneurship for collaboration. Frequent contact with staff, faculty, and students across the campus, and especially with faculty and staff with expertise in gender equity. Frequent contact with staff in the Office for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusive Engagement, the Office of Multicultural Affairs and the LGBT Center related to education and training.

External: Frequent external contacts to represent the center or for programming needs with community professionals and partnerships, and secure mentors. Continued participation in national societies and special endeavors that support and provide resources to improve the inclusion of women and girls in under-represented fields.

Students: Continuous contact with undergraduate and graduate students as resource to the WISER program. Support individual students, resolve issues, organize and coordinate student programs and events.
