TelCom Construction Diesel/Gas Technician in Clearwater, Minnesota
Overview and Essential Functions
TelCom Construction is looking for motivated employees to join our team! We are currently hiring a full-time Diesel/Gas Technician. With a fleet of over 2,000 pieces of equipment/vehicles, our technicians are responsible for maintenance and repair of the Company fleet. Some work is performed in our shop, much of it is done in the field at a job site. There is NO retail work, all internal.
What will you do?
Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections on both company vehicles and construction equipment including both gas and diesel machinery
Examine vehicles and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot vehicle and equipment failure
Examine vehicles and equipment and recommend proactive maintenance or service in order to avoid vehicle and equipment failure
Some welding and fabrication
Perform DOT certifications
Operate and test equipment as needed. (Directional Boring Drills, Excavators, Reel Trailers, Flatbed Trailers, Ditch Witch Vac’s and more)
Complete appropriate and required paperwork to ensure documentation of repair and maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
1-2 years of diesel/gas mechanic experience or combination of experience and certified mechanic program education is required
Knowledge of both vehicle and non-vehicle equipment repair
Valid driver's license with good driving record is required
Valid Class A Commercial driver’s license preferred
Must have own standard mechanic tools
Ability to read and comprehend technical repair documents
State DOT certification is a plus
