About the Department The College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology (CECH), at the University of Cincinnati, is dedicated to making a difference in our communities through outreach, academic programs, and community partnerships. Job Overview The CECH Office of Recruitment is seeking a Transfer Admissions Counselor to assist in the administrative and operational activities of the department. Reporting to the Associate Director of Student Recruitment, this position will be responsible for promotion of CECH undergraduate programs, undergraduate student inquiry generation and enrollment growth of the CECH transfer student population and students transitioning from UC regional campuses. This is a highly visible position responsible for increasing awareness, building relationships, and enthusiasm, for CECH through student recruitment initiatives, outreach and communication, partnership creation and specialized events. As the Transfer Admissions Counselor you will aid in the successful strategic planning and recruitment of qualified students by helping them navigate the process of transferring to CECH from community colleges, UC regional campuses and Industry partners. The Transfer Admissions Counselor is responsible for attracting, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a competitive entering class of undergraduate transfer and transition students. This position creates and implements recruitment strategies to reach prospective transfer students through events, referrals, online and print communications, and outreach to businesses and organizations, as well as manages recruitment activities in targeted initiatives. The successful candidate will also conduct information sessions for prospective students and families, arrange visits to community colleges, conduct corporate outreach, and travel for transfer fairs. The Transfer Admissions Counselor must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators, and staff. This position will require 70-90% on the road travel; occasional weekends and overnight stays may be required. There will also be a possibility of supervising student workers.
