Michelman Senior Engineer, Project in Cincinnati, Ohio

General Summary
We have a great opportunity available for a Senior Project Engineer to join our corporate engineering team at our headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. You will evaluate, plan, and implement capital projects that support our global manufacturing footprint. In addition, this role will be responsible for the development of technical engineering standards, supporting the implementation of better capital management processes within Michelman, and supporting the development of a company-wide capital forecast incorporating capital needs of all business functions.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage large scale projects, that either involve significant footprint expansion or impact continuous improvement initiatives across multiple facilities.
Manage R&D Capital projects that require additional technical or more complex project management
Lead the development of standards for engineering design and construction for the business
Support the implementation of capital project execution and budgeting processes, focused on tools necessary to support the continuous improvement of our project execution model, resulting in predictable capital spend, on time and on budget
Coordinate capital budgeting for those departments/functions outside of manufacturing/supply chain and coordinate forecasting updates throughout the year
Any other responsibilities as assigned by management

Global travel may be required, as project needs dictate
Must be willing and able to work in chemical production facilities that are not climate controlled
Ability to stand, walk, climb vertical ladders and wear PPE as the situation dictates
Critical Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Technically competent, detail oriented, and have strong project management skills, with the ability to navigate complex problems
Capable of building project schedules using tools similar to Microsoft Project
Ability to build strong working relationships and function effectively at all levels of the organization
Versatile and a results-oriented leader
Experience leading and/or managing others effectively
Detailed knowledge of chemical processing equipment including pumps, mixers, valves, heat
Exchangers, boilers, cooling towers, and compressors
Experience with process instrumentation and automation
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Ability to think independently and manage projects from concept to completion
High levels of self-motivation, initiative, and interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office products
Education and Experience
7+ years of project engineering/project management experience preferred
Bachelor of Science in chemical or mechanical engineer or equivalent experience
Experience working within the Specialty Chemicals or Petrochemicals sector highly desirable
