*POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES *
The BIM Specialist's role is to assist the BIM manager in the day-to-day processes of setting up projects models, assisting the team in generating construction documents, provide help-desk support to design staff and engineers with the various software being used, solving problems as they arise within project models, train staff as needed, creating and maintaining Revit family and content, and identifying issues and inefficiencies with work flow, standards, etc.
Roles and responsibilities
- Set up/organize project models; views, sheets, etc.
- Assist in the development of construction documents.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of discipline families.
- Ability to solve basic software problems in Revit, Plant3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks
- Coordinate project related drawing information with internal and external team members.
- Identify and communicate problem areas to the BIM manager where more complex conflicts in design arise.
- Enforce the use of standard template files/starter projects.
- Take part in internal BIM user group meetings.
Train and support staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Knowledge of the MEP industry
- Revit training and/or experience.
- Proven BIM experience.
- Knowledge of MEP systems modeling in Revit.
- Organized and efficient.
- Ambitious with initiative to attack a problem.
- Attention to detail.
- Friendly and approachable. Eager to help the team grow and improve.
- Clear and concise. Effective communicator.
Preferred:
Knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, and programming language (Python, C#, vb.net) is a plus.
