Under direct supervision, this position will support and assist the MAAC Electric Vehicle Access Program, and program support staff, to identify, develop, and implement strategies to ensure moderate to low-income community members have equitable access to clean vehicle ownership. The incumbent will participate as a member of a transdisciplinary care and case coordination team and will engage in monitoring and offering support to help ensure successful implementation of the MAAC electric vehicle adoption model. Supportive interactions will include providing support for outreach efforts; applying for EV incentives and rebates to community members; providing education, coaching, and referrals to internal and external community resources; performing other related duties as assigned.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator plays a vital role in implementing MAAC’s Electric Vehicle (EV) Access Program and environmental sustainability initiatives. Under general supervision, the Program Coordinator will assume responsibilities that include program implementation, leading outreach activities, providing EV education and related supports to program participants, processing applications, partner engagement, and overall coordination of program/contract requirements.  The Program Coordinator must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to independently prioritize his or her workload schedules based on the needs of the program(s).

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES     

  • Direct Service 

  • Provide EV education, support, and coaching to participants to prepare them for EV ownership, including navigating current incentives and rebates programs.

  • Provide financial resources and coaching to participants by connecting them to other MAAC programs when in need of special financing or build/rebuild credit for EV ownership. 

  • Outreach and Education

  • Coordinate online and in-person workshops, events and various grassroots marketing, education and outreach task, (working on evenings and weekends may be required).

  • Steward and manage partnerships with other agencies to ensure successful promotion of the program.

  • Program Coordination

  • Participate in meetings with funders, local government, services agencies, and community-based organizations as requested.

  • Provide overall operational support to the Economic Development program.

  • Provide logistical and administrative oversight to ensure quality control. Enforce program requirements to meet contractual goals.

  • Document efforts and outcomes in CRM.  

  • Prepare required programmatic reports

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS  

Knowledge of:

  • Standard office software packages (MS Office: Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Ability to:

  • Work effectively under deadlines.

  • Apply complex concepts, procedures and policies.

  • Email, scheduling, conference calls and other common office communications.

  • Be attentive to detail, organized and problem-solving skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION;

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, environmental/energy policy, transportation planning, environmental planning, or environmental science or related field preferred, with at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in program management, preferably in outreach coordination, partner engagement, community education and case management OR a minimum of 5 years of related experience

  • Bilingual (Spanish preferred).

HEALTH STATUS

Must have a physical examination, TB clearance and a drug screen by a doctor/clinic designated by MAAC as well as immunization records for influenza*, pertussis and measles as required by state and federal regulations prior to the first day of employment.

BACKGROUND CLEARANCE

All positions are subject to a background/education check, DMV check, NSOR, exclusion and debarment checks prior to hire and periodically throughout employment as required by various funding sources.

Note: California Start law requires background criminal checks on anyone who works in a licensed childcare facility who is not a client. Must have or obtain a current criminal background check clearance, signed criminal record statement, and signed Acknowledgement to Report Child Abuse form prior to the first day of employment.

TRANSPORTATION

Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, daily use of a personal, insured vehicle, and have and maintain a motor vehicle driving record acceptable to MAAC’s insurance carrier. Incumbents will be enrolled in the California DMV Pull Program.
