Resideo Sr Mechanical Design Engineer in CHIHUAHUA, Mexico

Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to mechanical projects, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve techniques, procedures, and products and technologies. You will design products to meet customer needs, product quality, manufacturability, new product development, prototype builds, testing, and may serve a project manager role for smaller development projects. You will develop the product designs necessary to drive product improvement and will be integral in securing present and future business by consistently meeting or exceeding Voice of Customer requirements. Solve complex problems where analysis of a situation is required in order to meet the requirements of the customer. Serve as the technical lead role for product lines or new development projects. Work with Sales and Customers to ensure designs meet customer expectations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead NPI products mechanical architect and details design and PCBA stack up design, maintain projects follow up.

  • Review MRD (Marketing Requirement Definition) and clarify all the issues with global teams.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize the system design.

  • Estimate mechanical material cost and tooling cost and continuously drive mechanical BOM cost optimization.

  • Have good mechanical design knowledge, including products made from injection-molded plastic parts, metal castings, metal sheets, and silicone rubber. Familiar with the main surface treatment processes (painting, electroplating, laser...).

  • Be able to support supplier tooling DFM reviews and have good experience in tooling structures.

  • Work with global factories to resolve all production line issues.

  • Responsible for EVT and DVT engineering validation tests and documents.

  • Responsible for the component/system-level qualification process (PPAP) and ECO/ECR process in PLM.

  • Up to 10% of the time for domestic travel and 5% of the time for international travel.

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Minimum 6-8 years hands on products mechanical lead design experience.

  • Minimum 6 years of proficient in Creo/Windchill tool, good top-down design experience, advanced 3D modeling.

  • Capable of Ansys FEA, Tolerance Analysis, DFMEA.

  • Verbal & Written English proficiency.
