Position Overview

Position Overview:

Oversee installation and repair of all electrical equipment. Be knowledgeable in programming and troubleshooting of all electrical equipment including, but not limited to, PLCs, inverters, single loop controllers throughout the plant. Provide training and guidance to Technician-Electrician, and Mechanics

Job Description

Responsibilities: - Receive project assignments from supervisor and respond to trouble calls from production and other departments - Provide technical guidance and training to all plant technician-electricians - Perform preventive maintenance on equipment - Oversee all electrical projects in the plant - Assist manufacturing on downtime if necessary - Assist manufacturing with clean up if necessary - Complete assignments in a timely fashion - Report to management any quality and safety problems and potential production problems that are encountered while performing the job - Perform all job duties in a safe manner without bodily injury to self or others - Perform all related job duties and other Responsibilities assigned by supervisor or department manager - Learn and use Ariba procurement system to order parts and supplies related to job needs - Learn and use EZ Entry/TPM system to set up and receive work instructions Requirements: Skills: - Must have verifiable experience - Must be able to interpret schematics, prints and oral instructions, set up and programming of complex PLC, inverter and other electrical applications, interpret electrical and mechanical situations to determine process failure, process need and process improvement - Must be able to use test equipment including, but not limited to DMMs, amp meters, Megger meters - Must be able to design, install, repair, replace and maintain motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, power, communication, PLC, and other related systems - Must be able to draw schematics and compile documentation for complex projects - Must have knowledge of computers, PLCs, HMI, inverters, and other electronics - Must be able to write and troubleshoot complex PLC programs - Know the practices, methods, tools, materials and equipment of the electrician’s trade - Know the hazards and safety precautions of all procedures - Know how to diagnose and remedy maintenance problems Preferred Skills: - Previous verifiable industrial electrical experience - Previous residential electrical experience. The candidate chosen for this position may be hired at an interim job title and interim pay rate if all training and testing requirements for the position have not been successfully completed prior to hire.

  • PLAN & ORGANIZE

  • Effectively manage breakdown work based on the available resources (manpower, production priority, parts/materials, etc...).

  • Use available resources to maximize department efficiency and minimize production downtime.

  • Stay informed. Monitor and measure the progress of each breakdown/call to stay on top of any issues and prevent distractions from interfering with timely completion of repairs and/or troubleshooting.

  • Ensure daily work order completion and accuracy (parts used, labor hours, descriptions, etc...).

  • Be proactive. If breakdown calls are light, assign, and complete non-breakdown / PM work orders for any lines that have been scheduled down during your shift.

  • COMMUNICATE

  • Clearly communicate with production and maintenance supervisors during any and all breakdown work (estimated completion time, repair issues, etc...)

  • Communicate clearly with the team to ensure that your expectations are understood and that they have all the necessary information to complete work efficiently and correctly the FIRST time.

  • Seek team member input and listen to team member concerns and adjust priorities accordingly.

  • Motivate the team by creating a positive work environment that promotes trust and open communication.

  • DEMONSTRATE GOOD JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING

  • Maintain a safe work environment at all times.

  • Gather and interpret relevant data to ensure that the team has performed adequate troubleshooting and root cause analysis before and during repairs.

  • Make systematic and logical decisions based on root cause analysis, available resources, and production needs.

  • Collaborate with others to identify and generate alternative solutions and ensure the buy-in of all parties involved.

  • DRIVE RESULTS

  • Set high goals and promote a standard of excellence through responsibility and accountability.

  • Take prompt action to ensure goals are met.

  • Provide encouragement and support to the team and reward those that exceed the standard.

  • Identify and develop the team through mentoring and/or training.

12 Hr rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Act Calendar, shift starts PM, days change only
