Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician with experience in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing CNC machines. The ideal candidate will handle automation machine tool electrical maintenance, working on a variety of CNC equipment including CNC mills, CNC lathes, CNC machining centers, and robotics. You will work with over 35 OEM machine brands and handle equipment such as P&H cranes/hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, and CNC machine tools. You will also be responsible for repairing CNC and PLC equipment with controllers from brands like Fanuc, Siemens, and Modicon. Key tasks include troubleshooting and repairing AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems. You will connect a laptop to machines to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair issues. The maintenance team uses an MMS system to generate work orders, and you will log all maintenance performed using a company-provided computer/tablet. Prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair CNC machines and PLC equipment.

  • Handle electrical maintenance on various CNC equipment including mills, lathes, machining centers, and robotics.

  • Work with over 35 OEM machine brands and equipment such as P&H cranes/hoists, conveyors, furnaces, large part washers, ABB robots, and CNC machine tools.

  • Repair CNC and PLC equipment with controllers from brands like Fanuc, Siemens, and Modicon.

  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC analog and digital drives, sensors, cables, wiring, drive faults, encoders, and 480V systems.

  • Connect a laptop to machines for diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair purposes.

  • Use an MMS system to generate work orders and log all maintenance performed.

  • Prioritize machinery repairs based on the value stream of the equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines and PLC equipment.

  • Electrical maintenance and repair skills.

  • Experience with automation, electrical wiring, and control systems.

  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC controls by going online and editing ladder logic.

  • Electrical troubleshooting through HMI-alter programs.

  • Experience with AC/DC power systems.

  • Knowledge of Glass Scale Linear Encoders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Certified Electrician.

  • Associate Degree in Industrial Automation.

  • Experience with controls systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, and Fanuc.

Work Environment

Our manufacturing facility is climate-controlled and very clean, with a machine shop production environment. The positions are off-shift, with 2 positions on 2nd shift (3:30 pm - 11:30 pm) and 2 positions on 3rd shift (11:30 pm - 7:30 am). During the first 2-4 weeks, candidates can expect 40 hours a week on days for training before moving to their assigned shift. Candidates must be open to both shifts as they will be assigned after training.
