What you’ll do:
Develop and implement quality assurance standards and practices.
Interact with other departments to ensure understanding of quality assurance principles.
Conduct audits of processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement.
Conduct investigations into problems identified by customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Perform environmental and biological testing of product.
Perform routine line walks and building inspections to check for repacks.
Develop and implement training programs based on quality assurance principles and guidelines.
Provide training, coaching, and support to the Quality Assurance team.
Check all in inbound and outbound inspections; Ensure paperwork is completed and logs are updated.
Enforce GMPs and all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Work with QA manager to establish quality metrics and goals.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
1-2 years experience in QA/QC in the food industry preferred.
HAACP certification preferred.
Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.
Ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with minimal supervision.
Warehousing experience preferred.
Experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
Must be able to perform frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, and squatting and frequent reaching over shoulder, waist level, and from the floor
Must be a team player.
Must have excellent verbal and written communicate skills.
Must be dependable and have a good attendance record.
Must have basic math and computer skills.
Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, or when requested.
