Job Description:

The world around us is changing.  Extending McDonald’s competitive advantages in a world where customers demand seamless and personalized experiences requires that we reimagine how we engage our customers and run restaurants.   

This Director is part of the McDonald’s Global Communications Team and is 100% dedicated to strategic communications related to engaging employees, franchisees and suppliers in support of Enterprise Transformation responsible to advance enterprise storytelling to inspire the McDonald’s System to action.   

Specifically:  

  • Enterprise Transformation Story: Accountable for the strategic framing and development of the of the enterprise transformation story.  

  • On-Going Enterprise Storytelling:  Responsible for infusing a storytelling mentality into the organization and leading cross-functional teams in development of three-year strategy to advance the enterprise transformation with System audiences (suppliers, franchisees and employees).   

  • Cultivate trusted partnerships with global functions and change management teams to gain a deep understanding of the company platform and employee experience agenda  

  • Counsel leadership on communication efforts, and develop and implement effective communication strategies and tactics. 

  • Identify, train and deploy leadership, SME and local market voices across System channels to advance the narratives.   

  • Milestone Announcements: Accountable for leading cross-functional teams in the development & production of enterprise communications content and ensuring it is appropriate to audiences and context.   This may include: leader messages scripts, social media, talking points, creative content, Q&A.   

     

  • Transformation Business Partner/Integrator:  

  • Integrator for matrixed enterprise transformation communications resources deployed across individual initiatives and international markets.   

  • This role will lead development of strategic communications plan that transformation communications resources will execute locally.   

     

  • Employee Engagement Business Partner/Integrator:  Partner with Global People, Global DEI Team and Employee Business Networks to develop and execute strategies to empower employees to connect to the culture enterprise transformation through compelling and accessible communications.   

  • Partner across teams to equip employees to serve as advocates for the Brand.   

  • Serve as the enterprise communications lead for issues and crisis response and an advisor on company culture.   

Qualifications:

  • Prior corporate communications experience - both in strategy development and in execution 

  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, with an eye to messaging for a range of internal and external communication channels and audience types 

  • Excellent verbal communications skills 

  • Experience advising and working with senior executives 

  • Natural self-starter who demonstrates creative and critical thinking abilities, can focus and implement, with an eye for details 

  • Effective collaborator who will work cross functionally across teams and geographies/ time-zones. 

  • Curiosity and appreciation for new topics, issues, and cultures.  

  • Ability to deliver new and creative ways of thinking, writing and executing communications.
