Robert Half is seeking an Employment Attorney for a premier law firm in Chicago, IL or Park Ridge, IL. The firm is looking for 3-10+ years of labor & employment experience. This client will pay a competitive base salary plus wonderful benefits. The primary responsibilities for this Employment Attorney include but are not limited to:

  • Develop employment-related agreements, policies, and employee handbooks.

  • Counsel on employee relations issues such as discipline and termination, accommodation requests, leaves of absence, conducting workplace investigations, among others.

  • Execute all phases of litigation in federal and state courts handling employment law cases including discovery, interviewing witnesses, reviewing electronically stored documents, pleadings, motions and briefs, conducting and defending depositions, visiting dispute sites, interacting with clients and opposing counsel, attending court appearances, pre-trial matters, trial, and appeals.

  • The ability to successfully develop and maintain strong relationships with the firm’s existing client base.

Skills:

  • Extensive experience in Labor Law, Employment Law, and Commercial Litigation.

  • Proficient in creating Employee Handbooks and other employment-related documents.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and prioritize tasks accordingly.

    Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state labor & employment laws (e.g., wage and hour, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws).

  • Stellar academic credentials and references.

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills.

  • Demeanor to thrive in a high-paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines.

  • Must possess analytical, legal research and writing skills.

  • Licensed attorney with 5+ years of experience.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company.
