IHG Security Manager at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Key Responsibilities:

Security Operations Management:

  • Develop, implement, and manage all security policies, protocols, and procedures.

  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.

  • Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services as needed.

Team Leadership:

  • Recruit, train, and supervise security staff, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle all security-related tasks.

  • Schedule and oversee shifts to ensure 24/7 security coverage.

  • Conduct regular training sessions on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and customer service.

Crisis Management:

  • Develop and implement crisis management plans, including evacuation procedures.

  • Lead the response to security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up actions.

  • Maintain calm and control during emergencies, coordinating with relevant parties to ensure swift resolution.

Guest and Employee Safety:

  • Ensure all security measures are in place to protect guests, employees, and visitors.

  • Handle guest and employee concerns related to security and safety promptly and professionally.

  • Promote a culture of safety and security awareness among all hotel staff.

Surveillance and Access Control:

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of surveillance systems.

  • Manage access control systems to prevent unauthorized entry and ensure only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas.

  • Regularly review and update surveillance and access control policies.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws regarding security and safety.

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on security incidents, investigations, and other relevant activities.

  • Maintain accurate records of all security-related activities and incidents.

Budget Management:

  • Prepare and manage the security department budget.

  • Ensure cost-effective use of resources while maintaining high standards of security.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in the hospitality industry.

  • Proven leadership and team management skills.

  • Strong knowledge of security protocols, risk management, and emergency response planning.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle difficult situations with professionalism.

  • Proficiency in security systems, surveillance equipment, and access control systems.

  • Fluent in English; proficiency in Thai is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and patrol the premises for extended periods.

  • Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and security incidents.
