Aston Carter Project Accountant in Cheyenne, Wyoming
Description:
Associate project Accountant: the Associate Project Accountant is assigned to a smaller construction project(s) and partners with the Project Management team to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle. This role is required to be on the jobsite 5 days a week. The role will consist of a number of admin responsibilities as well.
Maintains project register. Prepares month-end posting/ allocations and accruals. Controls the accounts payable and receivable tasks for the project.
Ensures accurate reporting of financial information and timely invoicing pertaining to a particular project. Maintains project-related ledger accounts.
Disseminates month-end project reports to management and relevant business lines.
Maintains list of month-end deadlines and ensure that profit and cash flow forecasts are prepared on time and accurately.
Reviews project forecasts on a regular basis and ensure any outstanding matters are dealt with on a timely basis.
Identifies and assists with the resolution of basic project-related accounting issues.
Ensures policies and procedures for project accounting are adhered to.
Assists with administrative project needs including onboarding and offboarding skilled labor, badging, and data entry and upkeep.
Managing invoices and POs
Managing large data sets
Must be detail oriented to log everything correctly
Must be ok being on a project site and the personalities on a project site
Skills & Qualifications:
Experience within AR/AP/Payroll or full cycle accounting and the desire to work towards a career as a Project accountant
1-3 years of project accounting experience preferred
1-3 years of accounting experience required
Cost accounting and cost plus accounting experience preferred
GAAP accounting knowledge
Major ERP systems experience (Sage, Great plains, etc.) (COINS experience huge plus)
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or accounting preferred
Mix of all AP/AP/Payroll experience
Personality, team player, ready to help, be authentic
