Randstad is seeking a highly motivated Lab Technician to work in a fast paced laboratory environment, supporting regulatory studies. This position will provide to work with various lab equipment and to work within a dynamic team environment. For this position you will need to be able to lift up to 50lbs as needed.

salary: $20 - $23 per hour

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: Bachelors

Responsibilities

• Receiving and inventorying plant sample materials including seed and plant parts.

• Organizing, placing or retrieving inventories (ambient, 4C, or -20C walk-in coolers, warehouse, or -80C upright units) Note: For warehouse inventory only, the use/operation of forklift equipment is preferred, but will be offered as an option.

• Creating and shipping plant sampling kits

• Aliquoting and packaging seed for distribution

• Preparing seed for downstream molecular analysis

• Responsible for data system entry in corporate database

• Assist with sample preparation for downstream studies and customers through use of specialized milling equipment

• Assist with general plant care, seed propagation, pollination, and tissue sampling in controlled environment settings

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Biology or related field of study is preferred.

• Must be able to document all seed and sample handling activities in both electronic and manual systems.

• Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, and be able to communicate with sample owners, other team members, and analysts.

• Understanding of production plans, protocols, and relevant SOP's for the care, handling, or preparation of seed or samples.

• Able to understand and execute assignments by priority

• High-level of detail-orientation
