What you’ll do:

"Eaton - MTL has an opening for a Project Leader with Electronics background. This position will be based in Chennai, India.

The primary responsibility of this role is to design and develop varous product ranges of Alarm annunciators, Lighting solutions and Industrial Phones to meet the product requirements including Design, Reliability, Backward compatibility and conformance to standards.

• The candidate in this position will be responsible to perform the design and development said products conforming to required standards and to customer specific requirements.

• In depth experience in the Micro Controller / Processor based electronics design is a primary requirement. Strong basics on electronics based design is highly desirable.

• The candidate will be required to design the board / product from requirements provided by the marketing team based on the customer specification.

• The candidate will lead the projects such as new production development and sustaining activities of existing products as subject matter expert.

• Should have experience in New Product Development (NPD) & Sustain projects.

• Should also work as an individual contributor

• Having design simulation experience is a plus

• Working knowledge of overall design engineering processes encompassing ""Design - Developement - Testing - Product Launch"" is required.

• Provide manufacturability perspective for early concepts and help validate through building appropriate designs. Assist with building prototypes that help in proof of concept and work with all different stake holders"

"The candidate in this position will be responsible to:

• Lead the project and as well as a team

• Complete Hardware development life cycle management

• NPD and Sustain product development

• New / redesign of Micro controller based boards

• EMI / EMC test hands on

• Unserdtanding the requirement and designing the product based on that.

• Experience with hardware / embedded software integration at product level is desired

• Should be able to manage customer requirements, concept design/selection, detailed design and analysis & design validation.

• Design for manufacturability - to improve new and existing designs & strong enough to address the technical challenges

• Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification is a plus

• Ability to develop productive working relationships with other stakeholders / functions outside of Engineering

• Maintain credible communication practice with stakeholders on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures

• Maintain effective communications both verbal & written with customer, team members and cross functional teams

• Be an active professional in continuous learning resulting enhancement in organizational objectives

• Continue to lead the team, mentor them and develop their skill set"

Qualifications:

B.E/B.Tech or ME/M.tech in Electrical /Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Master's degree - 7 to 10 years or Bachelor's degree - 9 to 12 years experience in Hardware (Board) design & development

Skills:

Board design & development, Analog and digital electronics, Hardware design life cycle management, Component selections, Testing and debugging, Micro controller based design experience, EOL analysis and High speed design experience is a plus.
