    Job Summary:

    1. Will require monitoring, disposition and response to alarms from access control systems, intrusions systems, fire alarm monitoring systems, and advanced surveillance systems.

    2. Make appropriate emergency and routine notifications according to emergency checklists

    3. Process required incident and service reports

    4. Prioritize and provide response instructions to a uniformed security force

    5. Review and understand the site specific procedures, all applicable TVA policies/procedures, contract security policies/procedures and all applicable security work instructions

    6. Receive by telephone and answer requests for emergency and non-emergency calls. This position is responsible for obtaining and gathering data concerning the authenticity, nature, and location of the incident and caller’s identity; based on established operating procedures. Relays all information to appropriate Agency Emergency Officer, Operations Duty Specialist, TVA CSCC work group, or other strategic business units.

    7. Operates computer terminal to transmit or receive emergency information.

    8. Be knowledgeable of NIMS/ICS protocols to help ensure compliance during emergency events.

    9. Perform other related supporting Emergency Management & Preparedness duties as assigned. This includes but not limited to support of the Nuclear Radiological Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures as a qualified member of the offsite response organization. This support includes participation in evaluated drill/exercises and response to actual events.

    10. Operate advanced call system, providing customer service and information functions for TVA main office locations, plants and other sites covering seven states. Also operate TDD for hearing impaired.

    11. Provides service for all TVA employees during non-business hours by completing calls to other TVA locations and personnel.

    12. May be required to testify in court.

    13. Other duties as assigned related to position

    Supervision Received:

    Works under direct supervision on new tasks and minimal supervision when following standard procedures. Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems.

    Skills and Proficiencies:

    3. Comfortable with high-tech work environment, and constant learning of new tools and innovations.

    4. Flexibility to work all shifts, and willingness to assist the team with overtime when needed

    5. Maintain confidentiality during sensitive situations

    6. Ability to sit in one place for extended periods of time

    7. Ability to receive/translate/act upon information in a high stress situation

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:Associates degree preferred in relevant area or GED/ High School diploma with two years experience in relevant area (emergency operations center call handling, security control center alarm monitoring, emergency management center operations, security operations field).

    Certifications/License, etc:Must obtain within one year NCIC, APCO, First Aid and CPR certifications, appropriate FEMA Incident Command System, disaster preparedness training. Must successfully complete and maintain all training required by TVA for position. Must obtain and maintain TVA Sensitive clearance and NERC clearance. Must meet all fitness for duty standards mandated by the Nuclear Fitness For Duty Program
