Sharp Electronics Corporation Logistics Supervisor in Charlotte, North Carolina

Overview

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the activities of a component or group of component logistical operations, such as set up, delivery or warehousing functions within a branch operation. The Logistics Supervisor may alternatively be responsible for the total logistical operation of a single location within a larger branch operation and/or assisting the Logistics Manager in coordinating all branch logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises a staff of logistics operations employees

  • Assist in the timely and accurate purchasing and receiving of equipment, parts and supplies

  • Responsible for assisting in overseeing and ensuring inventory control including equipment fixed assets, cycle counts and physical inventories per Company policy

  • Ensures timely updates and communication of job orders to internal and external clients

  • Assist Logistics Manager with inventory control process and scheduling

  • Oversee or assist Logistics Manager with oversight of all warehouse and delivery operations

  • Provide input in inventory management, coordination, and preparation

  • Assists and maintains reporting requirements as needed per policy and management

  • Maintains vendor and material updates in accordance to policy and communication to Master Data team

  • May assist in facility maintenance and coordination of all necessary branch repairs

  • Ensures proper tracking and recording of returned/damaged goods for credit per company policy

  • Lead and motivate the warehouse operations team

  • Train, mentor and coach lower level and less tenured Logistics staff

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent education

  • College degree preferred

  • Candidates must have a valid driver’s license

  • 5-7 years experience in warehousing, delivery services, inventory coordination or related fields

  • Strong leadership skills with previous supervisory experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of basic warehousing procedures including; record keeping techniques

  • Experience in safely utilizing a variety of warehouse equipment including hand truck, carts and forklifts

  • Ability to use RF devices for inventory management

  • Possess forklift certification and ability to train other team members

  • Proven knowledge of meeting OSHA regulations and incorporating in the warehouse management

  • Experience with training others how to safely use warehose equipment strongly preferred

  • Solid knowledge of proper methods of stacking, storing, lifting and loading parts and supplies.

  • General computer knowledge including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

  • Excellent communications skills both written and oral

  • Excellent decision making ability, including the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation for this position

The compensation range for this role is $57,975-$105,800. The listed salary range or contractual rate excludes bonuses, incentives, differential pay, and any other forms of compensation or benefits. The starting salary will be determined by several variables, including but not limited to experience, education, training, certification, and location. You may also be eligible to receive an annual discretionary incentive award, commissions, and program-specific awards, which are subject to the rules governing these programs.
