We are hiring experienced McDonald's shift managers and/or Department Managers for the Department Manager positions of:

  • Guest Services Department Manager

  • People Department Manager

  • Quality (Kitchen) Department Manager

Managers lead shifts every week, making sure customers get a fast, accurate, friendly experience every visit. But some managers also lead Departments. These managers’ responsibilities may include managing assigned Systems, like Training, Food Safety, and Inventory Management, setting goals, delegating tasks to their teams, following up, and reporting results back to their team and other managers.

Department Manager – Guest Service Manager

Description:

The Guest Service Manager is a self-motivated and actively engaged with the restaurant’s employees and demonstrates care, respect, leadership and passion for restaurant’s guests, crew and managers. This candidate provides oversight of the overall customer experience, looking for ways to create feel good moments. The role of the GSM includes responding to customer feedback through all feedback channels, looking for opportunities to improve customer experiences, address opportunities for improving service times, digital and delivery experiences, educating customers on promotions and limited time offers, plan and accommodate birthday parties and special events, and build community relations through community events. Principal accountabilities include working in collaboration with restaurant leadership team and crew members, GELs, Crew Trainers, and Shift Managers to improve the guest experience. The GSM is also actively engaged in supporting training initiatives for customer service, drive thru, digital, delivery and front counter speed, service quality, order accuracy and cleanliness. The GSM is responsible for improving customer service metrics, building guest counts, digital transactions, sales, and indirectly responsible for profitability, and reducing controllable expenses.

This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of McDonald's restaurant operations, people leadership, customer service standards, McDonald’s Operations and Training manual, organization, attention to detail, and the ability to set goals, develop action plans, analyze results, and execute responsibilities timely and effectively. This position requires intense follow-up on daily results. The GSM works on the floor as a manager with an intense focus on improving the guest experience. The GSM should maintain a perspective of looking through the lens from a customer’s point of view. This job requires the flexibility to work nights and weekends to provide leadership and training support.

Prerequisites:

· McDonald’s Certified Shift Manager (McDonald’s Leadership Transitions course completion)

· ServSafe Food Safety Handler certification

· 18 years of age or older

· McDonald’s DLIM certification preferred

· Previous Department Management a plus

· 1+ years McDonald’s shift management experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Starting wage for a DLIM certified and experienced McDonald’s Department Manager begins at $17.00/hr. plus bonus and benefits described below:

Job Duties:

· Educate crew, GELs, crew trainers and managers on MOP, My McDonald’s Rewards program, McDonald’s digital and digital standards

· Work with and train Guest Experience Leaders (GEL) to create feel good moments for customers, including educating customers on kiosk, digital, delivery and MOP

· Identify opportunities for improvement related to customer service, hospitality, service quality, service accuracy and implement action plans to improve results

· Respond to customer compliments and complaints within 48 hours via phone calls to restaurant, organization feedback line, McDonald’s hotline

· Maintain restaurant POP materials and assist in roll out of new promotions and LTO items

· Identify root cause issues, create action plans, follow-up and work with restaurant leadership team to improve results

· Attend McDonald’s trainings and RHJOC development trainings

· Improve customer service times related to digital, delivery, drive thru and front counter transactions

· Plan and execute birthday parties and special events

· Work with organization leadership on community relations and events

· Celebrate success, recognize and reward crew and managers for improved results and behaviors

Schedule:

The Guest Services Manager functions in a floor leadership role and attends frequently scheduled trainings and meetings. The GSM completes their department responsibilities concurrently while maintaining floor management coverage with some hours dedicated to administrative time, including training and meetings. This is a regular part-time hourly position averaging up to 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required. The GSM is required to be available to work nights and weekends.

Requirements:

  • Ability to travel between organization stores and training events.

  • Ability to access and utilize technology, including HR systems, Microsoft Office, and McDonald's computer systems.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Ability to work cohesively with coworkers to build strong restaurant teams.

  • Strong communication skills with team members via telephone, in-person, and digital channels

  • Strong attention to organization, detail, and timeliness

  • Applicants must have 1+ years of McDonald's Shift Management or Department Management Experience

  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information.

  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments, and able to adapt quickly to changing information and situations.

  • McDonald’s OTP Level CODE certification required within 6 months of hire.

The Guest Service Department Manager’s responsibilities may include making sure Crew and Managers deliver a great customer experience, that sales promotions are done well, that all service staff are trained in service procedures, and that the Front Counter McCafé and Drive-Thru areas are organized for the best service.

The Kitchen Department Manager’s responsibilities may include making sure the restaurant delivers great quality food to customers, and fast, that food is always safe, that food cost is controlled, and that all kitchen staff are trained in production procedures, including new items that are added to the menu.

The People Department Manager’s responsibilities may include making sure the restaurant hires qualified crew, trains them well, and schedules them to meet restaurant sales and profit goals. This manager’s responsibilities may also include making sure Crew get off to a good start at the restaurant and that they are recognized and motivated throughout their time working there.

Previous managerial experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail or hospitality environment. We’re looking for positive team players with flexible schedules who like to have fun, with the passion to work the famously fast paced McDonald’s environment. You must be 18 years or older to be a manager in our corporate owned and operated restaurants.
