This client-facing position oversees operations for Truist’s most sophisticated portfolio of Agented, syndicated deals as well as bilateral and participated deals originated across multiple business lines. This role will lead a team of 3-6 entry level, as well as experienced, professional-level staff members. Responsible for recruiting, training, and conducting performance reviews for direct reports. Ensures the team delivers high quality service for all internal and external clients while managing the service delivery framework and associated risks within the supported portfolios for a large, complex banking organization. Portfolios support ASG, ABL, CIB, CCB, Dealer Finance, CRE, and Wealth products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as subject matter expert in complex lending end to end, including syndicated and participated lending, foreign currency, asset finance products, and servicing for large corporate clients.

  • Recruit, develop, and retain optimum talent to meet strategic initiatives and department goals. Perform salary administration, promotions, transfers, succession planning, training, coaching and terminations within established policies and guidelines.

  • Minimize number and impact of operational incidents and near misses. Proactively manage team’s KRI’s/KPI’s and provide timely resolution and escalation to the Head of Agency where near misses/operational incidents do occur. Ensure lessons learned are shared with the larger Agency Team via staff meetings to ensure transparency & mitigate reoccurrence.

  • Apply product and system expertise and think creatively to address nuanced, non-routine problems.

  • Stay abreast of market updates, trends, and market initiatives impacting the syndicated loans business and cascade to staff via team meetings. When applicable, take part in working groups and conferences representing department and staff.

  • Identify, own, and deliver process and organizational improvements to tangibly improve processing capacity and risk mitigation within the Agency Team.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • 3+ years’ work experience in financial services.

  • 2+ years’ work experience in a client-facing role supporting syndicated loan operations.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of complex lending systems such as: AFS Vision, Loan IQ, SyndTrak, ClearPar, Loan IQ reporting tools / IBM Cognos, etc.

  • Able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Able to navigate and interpret complex legal documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years’ experience managing a client-facing team supporting syndicated loan operations.

  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the syndicated loan market.

  • Loan IQ SME.

Visual / Audio / Speaking

Able to access and interpret client information received from the computer and able to hear and speak with individuals in person and on the phone.

Manual Dexterity / Keyboarding

Able to work standard office equipment, including PC keyboard and mouse, copy/fax machines, and printers.
