This Position is for an Assistant General Counsel -- Supply Chain/ Manufacturing with a remote work location in Charlotte, NC.

What you will be doing

This is a position within the Legal Department that is held by a lawyer with strong legal skills and the ability to deliver business-oriented, effective and efficient legal services, project management, and strategic counseling on significant projects or matters for defined business or corporate clients for which he or she has overall responsibility.

Legal associates have an important impact on business operations by protecting Company interests through the accuracy of advice given and propriety of decisions made on the Company's behalf. You are expected to be able to interact confidently with senior business management and, when necessary, with senior Company management.

This is a US based remote position (preferred candidates in the East or Midwest).

Act as legal counsel supporting buy-side contracting and procurement initiatives, primarily in the area of specialty and brand pharmaceuticals with the opportunity to assist in other areas of supply chain management

Draft and negotiate and advise regarding full pharmaceutical manufacturer-facing agreements to ensure that these contracts accurately express the Company's strategy, objectives and minimize legal and regulatory risk

May have management responsibility for one or more legal professionals and, if so, is required to be an effective manager of his or her reports

Required to be adept at handling significant legal projects, matters, and issues and should have very good to excellent technical legal skills and expertise

Take on mixed legal and business responsibility for, and project management of, contracts or other matters that the client group wants to pursue

Make business-oriented yet legally compliant recommendations to his or her clients

Solve both straightforward and complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions

Juggle multiple matters and effectively multi-task and prioritize tasks to ensure that work is completed in a timely and efficient matter

Be comfortable with change and should be willing to shift priorities and focus

What your background should look like

A minimum of 9 years of experience as a lawyer combined with expertise in one or more specialty areas of legal practice (e.g., commercial law, healthcare regulations).

Law Degree - must be a graduate of an accredited law school and admitted into the state bar

Working knowledge of healthcare regulations and advice (Anti-Kickback Statute, government price reporting, 340B, government contracting, antitrust)

The lawyer in this role is comparable to a counsel, non-equity partner, or service partner in a law firm and is a lawyer who can do sophisticated work as an individual contributor and/or supervise and project manage other individual legal professionals or teams of legal professionals to do the work

Familiarity with a variety of the pharmaceutical industry's concepts, practices and legal procedures is required

Strong business acumen and extensive commercial contracting experience

Capacity to handle wide breadth of issues and prioritize accordingly

Excellent judgment and ability to actively resolve complex issues effectively

Strong customer service focus

Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
