The Production Planner & Scheduler will play a critical role in coordinating production workflows and optimizing schedules to ensure efficient operations using Epicor within our manufacturing environment. They will be responsible for developing production plans, managing schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of products while maximizing resource utilization and meeting customer demand. Their attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks will be essential in maintaining effective communication and collaboration across departments.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with all departments to develop production plans and schedules to meet customer demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with our manufacturing and assembly teams to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
  • Create and maintain master schedules for projects, operations, or events, ensuring alignment with production capacity and resource availability.
  • Adjust schedules as necessary in response to changing priorities, resource availability, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Locates parts / work orders within the manufacturing facility and moves parts to subsequent operations as required to minimize delay through the process.
  • Coordinate execution of the master schedule pertaining to assigned material.
  • Work with internal and procurement to understand and communicate needs and ensure that data within planning systems accurately reflect expectations.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts or issues that may arise during project execution.
  • Check deliveries against demand to ensure product is needed.
  • Assists manufacturing personnel in expediting parts to completion.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for all assigned products monthly or more often if necessary.
  • Serve as order expeditor to ensure on time delivery of products.
  • Distribute and maintain reports of necessary data to ensure effective communication within the department and other dependent personnel and departments.
  • Analyze production specifications and capacity data to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and manpower requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, Operations Management, Project Management, a related field or 5 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 3+ years prior experience in a Production Planning or Scheduling role preferred within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of production planning principles, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems, Epicor strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook and the ability to learn customized software and products quickly.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Comply with department ISO 9001 processes and company quality policy
  • Manage and log time worked daily by project code.
  • Provide miscellaneous support to other departments, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to better a department or company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • APICS certific tion (CPIM or CSCP) or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards.

Physical Demands:

Fast-paced manufacturing environment with regular interactions with production staff, engineers, project managers, and management. Frequently, the employee must stand, walk; use hands or fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms; and talk and listen. Ability to occasionally lift products and/or supplies up to 25 lbs. and to sit and work at a computer for upwards of 4 hours at a time.

Additional requirements:

  • Full time position is Monday through Friday consisting of a 40-hour work week 8:00am to 5:00pm. This position may require periodic overtime and weekend work during periods of high production and/or audit.
