Vetter Forks, Inc. is seeking a Site Manager for its Chambersburg, PA, headquarters. Design, develop and drive the implementation of improved production and manufacturing methods, processes, practices, procedures, and controls to facilitate the reduction or control of manufacturing costs, improvement of productivity and inventory control, streamlining of production and maintenance operations, enhancement of facility and employee safety, delivery of quality products, and enhancement of return on capital investment in production equipment and/or facilities through engineering analysis and the strategic application of various manufacturing process improvement tools, technologies, and methodologies. Develop, oversee, and manage the implementation of production and manufacturing operation plans, schedules and procedures for day-to-day production and manufacturing operations associated with manufacturing, production, and operational budget development; project feasibility study, alternation, planning, and scheduling; facility maintenance, upgrade, and layout; housekeeping; product testing, development, quality assurance, and production level; purchasing; vendor relations and supply systems; and operational efficiency, economy, and cohesiveness. Monitor and manage critical production and manufacturing project activities to ensure manufacturing and production projects stay on track, on time, and within budget. Analyze production, quality control, maintenance, safety, budgetary, and operational reports to identify and determine causes of manufacturing and related operational inefficiencies, redundancies and nonconformities as well as to assess most significant leverage points within relevant process. Lead the planning, development and implementation of operational policies and testing criteria designed to eliminate operating problems, improve product quality and enhance production efficiency and consistency. Develop and direct the application of as well as the monitoring of quality and operational KPIs, benchmarks, metrics, and "best practices" throughout manufacturing and production operations. Oversee and direct efforts to troubleshoot process engineering and mechanical engineering concerns as they relate to manufacturing and production operations. Support facility activities related to quality registration and related efficiency and quality industry certifications. Develop forecasts related to manufacturing and production process operations and improvements that impact directly on maximization of return on both short-term resource allocations and long-term investments in facility operations and infrastructure. Liaise with staff to facilitate and steer responsive strategies and solutions that foster on-going continuous improvements in manufacturing, production, and facility support operations. Ensure that operations in the U.S. are consistent with German parent corporation's global manufacturing, production, and operational policies, practices, and procedures. Serve as the primary liaison between the company and Germany parent company with regard to transfer and integration of new or improved technologies, systems or methods of manufacturing and production in order to ensure continuous improvement and World-Class operational capabilities are implemented and maintained. Direct and manage engineering, logistics, and production staff. Requires only little domestic and international travel. Requires:5 years of experience in the management of production and manufacturing operations for heavy-duty formed metal implements or parts used in the cargo handling or transportation industries. Experience must have included the design, development, and implementation of production and manufacturing methods, processes, practices, procedures, and controls; supporting facility activities related to quality registration and related efficiency and quality industry certifications; supervising or training staff to operate machinery to cut, form, or weld uenched and tempered steel; troubleshooting process engineering or mechanical engineering concerns in manufacturing or production operations; monitoring and managing manufacturing or production project activities to ensure projects stay on track, on time and within budget; and developing forecasts related to manufacturing or production operations or improvements. Must also have proficiency in reading and writing in the German language to be able to read blueprints and other production documentation written originally in German as well as to speak in German regarding business and manufacturing operations.
