PURPOSE OF JOB:
This position is responsible for the operations of the PTI location(s) assigned to you. The Location Manager will work to achieve both individual and company goals while ensuring that our customers’ needs are met. Safety is always our #1 priority and should be a main focus for our Location Managers. All unloaders and checkpoint personnel would report directly to the Location Manager. This position directly supervises the Receiver/Unloader and Gate Attendants.
JOB DUTIES:
Location Operations
Recruiting, hiring, and onboarding qualified personnel.
Training and educating all employees on safety requirements, company procedures, etc.
Ensuring that policies and procedures set forth by the company and our customer are followed.
Coordinating the day-to-day activities of unloaders and checkpoint personnel (scheduling, working with trucking companies, etc.).
Monitoring and assisting with the performance of your unloaders, actively taking part in the unload processes.
Monitoring and making sure checkpoint follows procedure for inventory control (scanning out loaded inventory).
Maintain the lines of communication between the company and our railroad customers.
Being responsive to the needs of our customers while the schedule varies from day to day to ensure compliance.
Promoting and practicing safety awareness
Daily reporting and communication with the customer
Management & People Development
Effectively build, manage, and develop talent to support a performance culture within the department.
Closely manage employees, utilizing 1-on-1 meetings and Subject & Action (S&A) accountability standards.
Conduct timely performance appraisals for employees. Ensure timely submission and monitoring of annual business plan goals for yourself and your direct reports.
Ensure team members achieve minimum annual training requirements, as appropriate.
General
Ensure prompt and regular attendance.
Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.
Travel as business needs may require.

Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required.
Experience:
- 2+ years of management experience is minimally required
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
- Must possess and continuously maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
