Stanley Consultants is currently seeking a Traffic Engineering Department Manager for our Denver, CO office. The Traffic Engineering Department Manager is responsible for the direction and supervision of professional and technical job groups. Coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, budgets, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the best design capabilities to meet their needs. The number of employees directly supervised is typically 6-8. Essential duties include: Manages all line organization functions assigned to the department including personnel administration; project quality assurance and project team support; support of technical organization; and support of business development Leads traffic engineering and ITS-related strategic and growth initiatives. Support CSMs with client outreach where appropriate. Recommends department plans, programs and resources, including staff budgets and capital expenditures, and manages and executes those approved to meet line organization objectives. Leads and develops Project Managers, and/or department members to meet established objectives and their career growth. Recommends hiring, salaries, promotion, transfer, demotion, and termination of department members. Drafts and reviews scopes and fees for new department proposals. Serves as Project Manager on key department projects. Ensures that department resource planning is completed on a timely basis. Responsible for and reports department status, results, and performance. Balances workload within department. Recommends department and group operating policies, standards, and procedures. Performs other functions delegated by the Traffic Group Manager and/or Transportation Market Leader. This position is involved in the performance of all phases of traffic engineering, including proposals, studies, modeling, design, and project management. Will perform engineering for private, state, federal, and international clients.

Background Requirements Include: Must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering Must possess at least 10 years of relevant work experience Must possess a Colorado PE license or be able to obtain in a few months Must possess Traffic Engineering Planning and Design experience Must possess great written and oral communication skills PTOE or RSP certification is plus ITS Planning and Design experience is a plus Safety Planning experience is plus Base Compensation: $117,900 - $158,200 Stanley Consultants is committed to maintaining transparency in our hiring process, including providing information about compensation. The starting salary for the successful candidate in this position is competitive and will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications and experience, geographic location, internal equity, company policy and practices.
