Trinity Health School Health Assistant in Cedar Falls, Iowa

Description:

Under general supervision, oversees workflow of day-to-day activities of the school health office. Performs services as assigned by the School Nurse-RN and in accordance with written policy. School health assistant responsibilities will vary according to the school health program. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

  • Ensures health office is well-maintained and funtional

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for students needing health assistance and maintains good working relationships with students, parents, staff members, and administration

  • Reviews completed forms and documents student health information according to applicable school and health policies.

  • Develops and maintains a recordkeeping system for necessary files to ensure confidentiality and authorized access to accurate and updated records, includes updating electronic health records (i.e. Student Health Records, Immunization Records, Class/Student Lists).

  • Provides care to students and assists the School Nurse

*Hours/Schedule: *

60 hours biweekly (.75 FTE)

*Minimum Qualifications: *    

  • High School or Equivalent (GED)

  • 0 – 2 years of prior experience working with and engaging children. Previous work experience in a medical environment preferred

  • BLS. Mandatory Reporter Training. First Aid. Must completed annual Iowa Department of Education's requirements on Medication Administration. Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
