Responsibilities
Identify hazards and correct in real time
Work with the team to create solutions to identified hazards
Anticipate hazards through thorough understanding of work scope and upcoming activities
Ensure compliance with all relevant state, local and federal regulations
Accurately communicate daily headcount, including subcontractors to relevant parties
Utilize Safety Culture to complete 1 site safety inspection per day that accurately captures any observed hazards or deficiencies
Communicates efficiently with Safety Director to relay site safety needs, concerns, issues, or ideas for best practices
Implements best practices and advancements as driven by Safety Director
Collaborates with other safety personnel for problem solving and best practice sharing
Follows the proper chain of command for internal and external communications
Oversees any work that requires a permit to ensure permit requirements are being met
Conducts hands on equipment training for employees
Ensures employees have appropriate training
Conduct, participate in and properly document incident investigations including property damage, near miss, first aid and medical treatment events
Oversee and conduct JHA and morning toolbox talks
Identify high risk and non-routine activities and participate in the documentation and completion of pre planning documents
Ensure completion and participate in equipment inspections
The essential functions of this role include:
working in a non-temperature controlled environment
standing for 8 hours at one time
working weekends
