Carlisle Interconnect Technologies VP, Operations (CAM) in Carlisle, Pennsylvania

Manage long term strategies as well as support day to day issues relating to manufacturing for the CCM business.

Major responsibilities include: Near and long term strategic planning, ability to employ input from team for decision making and come to timely conclusions. Ensure all facilities follow manufacturing best practices (safety, quality, delivery, and cost) and manage teams with mutual trust, respect and integrity. Support and guide businesses toward profitable growth through a mix of efficiency improvements and cost reductions. Assure that manufacturing operations are working closely and cooperatively with all support functions (Engineering, EHS, COS, HR, Supply Chain and R&D). Work to develop team to perform at always improving levels.

Essential Functions

  • Create, monitor, and regularly review metrics relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
  • Assure alignment between plant metrics and divisional goals.
  • Support, guide, and mentor Operations Directors in achieving manufacturing and customer support initiatives.
  • Support Technical/R&D, Engineering/Purchasing department
  • Support CCM's COS initiatives - to include COS framework, PD projects, MDI, 5S, TPM, kaizen and best practice sharing amongst plants.
  • Ensure facilities are following OSHA's required safety programs, policies, and practices. Assure the establishment of safety committees, safety meetings and sharing of best practices relating to safety.
  • Ensure facilities safely follow all environmental rules and best practices to support federal, state and local laws.
  • Work with Engineering to investigate manufacturing equipment and processes for present and future use.
  • 40-50 % travel

Equipment Used

This position uses the following equipment in the course of the job duties: Personal Computer and a variety of Software including MS Office Suite, SAP, Cornerstone, Skype, and a Shop Floor Information System.

Working Conditions

Office, Plant Floor, Maintenance Shop, and Laboratory exposure across multiple plant sites. Regular working hours are M-F; 8am - 5pm with frequent weekend and/or after-hours requirements. Interacts with all Operations personnel, HR, Engineering, R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Executive Management.

Physical Requirements

Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, stooping, bending, typing (keyboard), sight and hearing, climbing (ladders), writing, reading, driving. This position is primarily desk work, but requires periodic plant visits in and around machinery and customer/supplier visits to job sites and their operations.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Used

Standard PPE used in an industrial setting such as eye and hearing protection, gloves, dust masks, respirators, dust suits, and steel toed shoes when required. Other PPE may be required and will be specified on a case by case basis.
