JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Dickinson Law in Carlisle, PA is seeking an experienced Senior Copywriter (Copywriter – Senior Professional) to serve within the Marketing & Communications Office. Reporting to the Director of Marketing & Communications, the incumbent’s typical work duties include:

  • Developing, managing, and executing editorial strategies

  • Developing story or content ideas

  • Writing, proofing, and editing print, website, and digital publications

  • Conducting research and arranging interviews for feature stories and in-depth profiles

  • Covering on-campus events through post-event stories and social media

  • Supporting the Antiracist Development Institute at Dickinson Law through event stories, website content, and press releases

  • Highlighting faculty and student achievements with news stories and social media posts

  • Overseeing the publication of an alumni newsletter to include planning the contents, conducting interviews, writing feature stories, and securing images

  • And supporting the Director of Marketing & Communications with limited administrative duties

Education and experience:

This position is will be filled as a Copywriter – Senior Professional, which minimally requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher, plus six (6) or more years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Candidates with experience writing for similar organizations are preferred. Candidates must possess AP and Chicago Style expertise and be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft 365 cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint) or other similar productivity platforms and ability to learn new software and web-based applications is also necessary. Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management, and communication skills are essential.

This is a full-time, 75% FTE position at 30 hours per week with full-time Penn State benefits provided.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $81,500.00
