Applicants will have a track record in the Education sector which will assist with growing the ESA Architecture Education offer within the WSP business. You will be a professionally qualified Architect with recognised experience of Education Design from both client and design sides. Experience of working with the Education Bodies including DFE. You will also bring a background of process and delivery for Education projects working within successful developed systems based on key principles of evidence-based design.

Education brings with it its own language. The ability to communicate and often translate between clinical expectations and design and construction process is hugely important. The building of relationships needs to be easy and rapid and is usually based on trust and understanding. This is an area where you will have had a good experience.

You must have the ability to work well as part of a team. Have excellent attention to detail, efficiency and quality. Be a people person and a good communicator with both clients and professional delivery staff.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake the role of team member, working flexibly and independently where required in support of the project leader while being efficient in managing one’s own time.

  • Monitors and checks processes for quality purposes.

  • Lead of current building legislation, construction technology and product development to undertake the production and coordination of design and construction information. Understanding of duties and responsibilities under CDM Regulations.

  • Specification writing capability with relevant software/NBS.

  • Managing and supervising project teams.

  • Undertake all tasks required on day to day running of projects at all stages, including Client and Contractor liaison. Design change which could impact on fees, change controls, slippage of programme, etc

  • Knowledge of current building legislation, construction technology and product development to undertake the production and coordination of design and construction information.

  • Specification writing capability with relevant software/NBS.

  • Understanding of duties and responsibilities under CDM Regulations.

  • ARB (or recognized approved equivalent).

  • Eligible member of an appropriate professional institution (RIBA or recognized approved equivalent).

  • Good understanding of Building Regulations and relevant Technical design guidance.

  • To have developed or developing knowledge to increase skill in the use of REVIT and Navisworks to achieve project delivery to Level 2 BIM.

  • Experience of Lumion and Enscape.

  • Experience in delivering Technical requirements on Education projects circa £5-15m.
