The Summer Student Maintenance Technician is responsible for landscaping and exterior maintenance within the Department of National Defense facilities to achieve optimum life span of equipment.
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform monthly preventative maintenance as directed by the supervisor including:
Perform site inspections (exterior) and document
Lawn and grounds care
Support additional work requests, including small projects
Utilize CMMS to demonstrate and document work performed on building assets and service to tenants
Participate with repair and maintenance tasks performed by sub-trades
Various cleaning tasks, as agreed upon and as time permits
Ensure all landscaping equipment is operated in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with all applicable government codes and regulations.
Other tasks as agreed upon.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working in a landscaping environment is an asset.
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required with ability to follow instructions both written and verbal.
Always maintain a professional demeanour with fellow employees and customer.
Maintain clear and courteous phone etiquette.
A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Maintain a valid G license with a clean driver's abstract.
Must be able to work in confined spaces and/or working at heights.
Bending and lifting (under 30kg) required.
