Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Davison Road CCA PC, in Burton, MI on a full-time basis.

The Packaging Optimization team performs daily activities supporting the flawless launch and distribution of parts going to the Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) Original Equipment and Independent Aftermarket network. Customer satisfaction, quality compliance, and sustainability represent core focus areas that serve as our compass, as we establish and achieve world-class KPIs and SLAs.

This is an opportunity to lead a high performing team responsible for critical functions of the business and engage and partner with varying business stakeholders to bring about technology improvements in all areas of packaging. This candidate will be expected to deliver fast paced results and influence the future of CCA part / package processing leveraging peer forums and benchmarking information for best practices and leading-edge concepts respectively. He or she will partner with and report directly to the Gen. Supervisor Davison Pkg. Operations.

In this position, the candidate will be responsible for providing direction and executing the activities related to the operations of the Davison Road facility. This includes leading a shift of highly skilled engineers and working collaboratively as one cohesive team to package unitized parts with minimal downtime. Critical decision making is a mandatory skill to ensure that all CCA customers are considered. These customers not only include the ultimate purchaser of the parts, but dealers and retailers. Product Distribution Centers, Regional Distribution Centers, and Davison Road leadership. Moreover, our partnerships with Purchasing, Quality, Cost and Logistics, etc. are of the most importance as we collectively serve the CCA network. With this said, the candidate will represent the shift reporting to all levels of leadership, whether daily or weekly meetings, workshops, and field visits.

Position will be on 1st shift

What You’ll Do

  • Lead shift of engineers driving completion of business goals, while bringing ideas for improving the workplace environment (CAP, WoC, work-life balance)

  • Execute the creation and development of processes with a “what can we do” instead of a “what can’t we do” attitude, leaving behind biases

  • Recommend changes to leadership that accompany the overall vision, mission, and strategy

  • Prioritize varying internal initiatives, while supporting cross-functional requests

  • Provide regular, succinct communications to all levels of leadership (GBS, CCA, etc.)

  • Work with suppliers to develop opportunity pipelines meant to drive further improvements throughout the business processes and systems

Additional Job Description

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in Package Engineering and 2+ years of related experience

  • High level of analytical ability to solve unusual and complex problems

  • Must have the ability to make timely day to day decisions based on data and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

  • High customer centric focus incl. attention to detail

  • Ability to prepare and present materials to senior leadership

  • Ability to work independently and alongside supplier personnel/other contractors in a cross-functional environment

  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management

  • Knowledge of continuous Improvement methodologies as Operational Excellence, Value Chain and Lean

  • Ability to travel domestically to supplier locations (occasional overnight may be required)

  • Outstanding verbal & written communications skills

  • Strong to advanced computer skills - MS Excel, Outlook, Access

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Profound knowledge of CCA packaging operations processes

  • Familiarity with the CCA warehouse network

  • Demonstrated competency using MS Access, Power BI at an intermediate to advanced level

  • Ability to work independently with flexible work hours to support all shift operations
