Posting Summary
Administer grant proposal process and grant administration for Department of Biochemistry, to deliver high quality applications within Sponsors’ submission deadlines. Provide advice and input to investigators during the proposal development process and throughout the awarded grant life cycle. Identify and recommend funding opportunities to department faculty and assist with plans for future grant submissions. Coordinate and administer multiple research projects and proposals, in collaboration with Sponsored Programs Administration and the Research Protection Office involving grant and protocol preparation, budget preparation, regulatory tracking and reporting to local institutional committees and external sponsors. Responsible for compliance review process, follow up protocol submissions and amendments. Administrative support for all aspects of manuscript editing, proofing and submission of publications. Administrative support for Cancer Biology course to include scheduling lecturers, compiling presentations, and uploading into learning management system.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and one to three years of relevant experience to include grant management required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required. Knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and database software required.
Desirable Qualifications
Familiarity with university systems and procedures highly desirable. Experience with NIH guidelines, online submissions platforms for grants and scientific journals, EndNote, desirable. Ability to understand and interpret the scientific nature of the material and submit documents and proposals electronically desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range $23.25/hr to $25.75/hr

A 4-month probationary period is required.
