Your New Role...

The Category Manager – Fashion, will assist the Director in shaping and executing short and long-term strategies for Apparel with a focus on collaborations. This role involves managing licensee relationships, identifying and pitching new partners, managing contract negotiations and deal execution, and overseeing category performance. You will work collaboratively within the Fashion and Home team to ensure strategies support our broader company goals. This role also oversees quarterly forecasts, budget reviews, and various category initiatives. Expect to present business updates and new initiatives to senior management, partner with various internal teams, and drive new business. Additionally, you will create pitches for internal and external partners and use competitive analysis and industry trends to identify fan-first business opportunities.

Your role accountabilities...

  • Assists Director in developing and executing long term category strategies

  • Drives annual sub-category initiatives, revenue plan and execution

  • Plans and monitors quarterly forecast and annual budget

  • Directly manages select licensees to establish product assortment and retail distribution plans

  • Independently negotiates and manages the entire contract and legal process for select licensees

  • Partners with Franchise, Creative and Retail to drive Franchise initiatives

  • Identifies, evaluates and executes new business initiatives

  • Interfaces frequently with senior management providing business updates, internal and external formal presentations and participate in strategy discussions

  • Utilizes key industry insights and trends to drive competitive advantage

Qualifications & Experience...

Work Experience

5+ years of experience in Licensing industry with a background in Fashion and Collaborations required

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

BA/BS degree preferred or related field experience

Knowledge/Skills

  • Solid licensing acumen and relationship skills

  • Proven ability to execute strategic and operational plan

  • Strong negotiating skills with ability to participate in complex retail and licensee contract agreements

  • Proven financial responsibility and accountability for category

  • Strong business development skills

  • Strong collaboration and partnership skills

  • Skilled in effective communication and collaboration, cross-functionally and with senior management

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational/leadership and planning skills required

  • Strong and varied computer software knowledge required (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to create and deliver pitch/presentations

  • Knowledge of retail landscape: key retailers, set dates, buying cycles, sell-in process, etc.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $83,090.00 - $154,310.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
