Flat 12 Mushrooms Product Development Manager in Buffalo, New York
Buffalo, NY. Flat 12 Mushrooms. Product Development Manager. FT. $14-$21/Hr.
Product Development manager has a working knowledge of food prep and recipe development as well as ingredient pricing and ordering. Work includes developing value added products derived from the fresh mushrooms that are produced at the farm as well as preserved products derived from the farm kitchen.
Daily Expectations and Responsibilities: Maintain workspace cleanliness and organization. Create and maintain product testing logs. Maintain and log raw material needs and communicate those needs to farm production team. Create workflow documents for new product production. Develop new mushroom based/value added products.
Key Competencies and Skills: Strong time management skills. Creative approach to problem solving. Strong verbal and written communication skills. An understanding of food preparation standards in NYS. Bookkeeping skills to maintain and work within GAP/NYS Organic/NYGrown certifications. A clear comfort level handling and operating commercial/industrial kitchen appliances, including grinders, dehydrators, fermentation, chambers, clamshell box builders, form and seal machinery. A passion for agriculture and urban farming. Ability and creativity to create processes to bring value added products to market.
