CAMBA Project Coordinator, Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) in Brooklyn, New York

CAMBA’s Sexual Risk Avoidance Education (SRAE) program is for middle school youth aged 10-13 and their parents/caregivers. The primary goal of the program will be to encourage a healthy transition from early to later adolescence by helping youth 1) develop a positive outlook for their futures based on their unique goals and talents and 2) understand how delaying sexual activity will help them achieve the future they want.

What The Project Coordinator Does:

  • Manage the coordination and implementation of SRAE’s curriculum to at least 100 youth across multiple sites in Brooklyn.

  • Oversee the work of the Health Educators in facilitating the curriculum and coordinate the adult-supervised activity and parent education elements of the program.

  • Create, locate and execute meaningful community service opportunities for youth, and lead staff to help youth identify opportunities that reflect their interests.

  • Engage parents/caregivers of youth participating in the SRAE program to receive education on parent-child communication on relevant health and risk avoidance topics.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in human services or a related field.

  • Must obtain Department of Education fingerprint clearance, and maintain clearance throughout duration of employment.

Other Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years applicable experience working with youth, specifically those between the ages of 10 and 13.

  • Experience managing and overseeing a staff of at least 3 individuals.

Compensation: $63,000 annually

When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
