Robert Half Bookkeeper/ Office Manager in Brooklyn, New York

Description

One of Robert Half's clients is looking for a permanent bookkeeper/ Office Manager. We are in need of organized and self-driven accounting professionals for a new Bookkeeper position. You will thrive in this role if you are able to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines. The accounts receivable, month-end closing, accounts payable, and reconciliation will need to be regulated in this Bookkeeper role. Additionally, the Bookkeeper will handle coding, light journal entries or general ledger reconciliation and perform data entry, cash applications, and full cycle A/P. Located in Maspeth, New York, this Bookkeeper role will be a permanent opening. Apply for this position today!

Major responsibilities

  • Manage sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Manage Accounts Receivable

  • Update general ledger

  • Adept in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Organize subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • Verify monthly accounting close

  • Additional special projects if necessary

  • Arrange monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Administrate Accounts Payable

  • Create cash flow projections, as needed

  • Supervise monthly accounting close

    Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience

-Proficiency with QuickBooks software and Microsoft Excel required

-Construction or interior design experience preferred

  • Approved Invoices experience

  • Proficiency in account reconciliation

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills

    • Noteworthy accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must

  • Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills
