Job Title: Blood Bank Technologist

Job Description

Seeking a dedicated Blood Bank Technologist to perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the assigned station. The ideal candidate will ensure that all specimens are appropriately stored, follow all quality control policies and procedures to provide reliable patient results, recognize critical or life-threatening results, verify these results, and report them to the appropriate clinician. Responsibilities also include documenting all results in the LIS. Candidates must be open to working evening shifts and rotating weekends. Training on the day shift will be provided for the first 4-6 weeks.

Hard Skills

  • NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License

  • Minimum 6 months of Blood Bank experience in a clinical lab

  • ASCP

Soft Skills

  • Understanding of test principles

  • Working knowledge of laboratory equipment

  • Ability to follow quality control policies

  • Ability to recognize and verify critical results

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Brooklyn, New York.

Work Environment

Monday-Friday, 4pm-12am with rotating weekends
