GENERAL DUTIES
Performs highly-skilled laboratory functions and other technical duties in support of coursework.
Sets up, maintains, and organizes student laboratories
Assists students with setting up experiments and other learning exercises, and with the use of equipment and materials
Maintains appropriate safety and hygiene standards
Maintains required documentation related to laboratory activities
Manages equipment and materials inventories.

CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Reporting to the Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Lehman College, the College Laboratory Technician (CLT)
will perform the following:
Set up and break down all equipment for all physics laboratory classes and for requested lecture demonstrations.
Maintain, repair, and clean equipment used in assigned labs and Departmental facilities.
Keep an up-to-date inventory of all lab equipment and determine the need for and manage the acquisition of replacement equipment.
Maintain clean, orderly, and functional student laboratory spaces.
Maintain, update, and contribute to the development of student laboratory programs and manuals.
Train instructors on the proper use of student lab equipment.
Stand in for absent lab instructors.
Perform other duties related to and necessary for the safe and efficient functioning of the department as assigned.
The CLT may work nights and weekends on a periodic basis as needed by the department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
COMPENSATION
$56,488 -$64,086
