Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Coordinator of Alumni Engagement. The person in this role is responsible for assisting with the facilitation and sustainment of an engaged relationship between the University and its 105,000+ alumni through interpersonal contact, programming, and written and electronic communication. In addition, the person in this role is responsible for support of Homecoming, alumni regional events, EDI affinity programs, club, organization, and athletic affinity programs, and academic affinity programs. This person will also manage Alumni Mentoring in conjunction with the Academic Success Center. In addition, the Coordinator is charged with assisting in the operation the Class Giving program, various commencement related communications, and events. This position supports all alumni outreach, including mail, email, and social communication, which in turn fosters greater collaboration with the alumni engagement office as it helps to support university-wide strategic goals in marketing and communications, experiential learning, student success, enrollment management, and advancement.

Working under the direction of the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Coordinator of Alumni Engagement supports internal and external constituents including alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • One year of experience in alumni engagement/advancement, non-profit, or marketing and communications.

  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to Advancement activities and to use discretion in interactions with prospects, donors, volunteers, and others.

  • Ability to work effectively with students, public, university community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.

  • Experience with event planning.

  • Experience using various social media platforms.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Teams).

  • Excellent communication and written skills.

  • Ability to work some evening and weekend hours and occasional travel.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.

  • Experience utilizing and creating content in CMS (Constituent Management System) tools.

  • Fundraising experience.

    Work Schedule: 8am-4pm

    Salary and Benefits: The Minimum Salary for this position is $55,151.
