The Software Engineer is a member of the Digital Transformation team. We are a team, diverse in gender and age, which resides in the heart of our global software R&D department. The team is part of the Visualization and Data Solutions business unit. We have colleagues across the Czech Republic, France, the Netherlands and the USA. The team strives to bring digital technology into our products, solutions and services. We are enabling data extraction and analysis, connectivity and software distribution. The Software Engineer will contribute to achieving our goals to change the way how we do business and to help science progress through the unimaginable value of data!

Key responsibilities of the position of Software Engineer are:

  • design and develop building blocks for our solutions, ranging from Web UI, server or backend components, micro services, SQL databases and more,

  • find solutions to reuse and assist in the integration of the resulting building blocks,

  • work in a distributed agile DevSecOPS software environment, combining different programming languages, new technologies and using professional development tools and

  • collaborate with software architects and engineers across the R&D organization, so outside the team.

The Software Engineer will benefit in their role growing as a professional, extending your proficiencies in working in a professional software engineering team using innovative methods and technologies and learning by interacting with their colleagues inside and outside the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree, preferably with a technical or scientific focus

Competencies and experience that fit with the position include but are not restricted to:

  • Knowledge of the C# programming language.

  • Proven experience in an agile DevOPS, preferably DevSecOPS, environment using GitLab or GitHub, build pipelines, test automation and automated deployment

  • Experience with agile project management and bug tracking systems (eg Jira).

  • Understanding the concepts of virtualization, using VMware, Dockers and Experience with VMware virtualization technology is beneficial.

  • Is proficient in English, both orally and in writing.
