ABOUT THE TEAM

The BTP ABAP team drives innovation from the heart of SAP. The team consists of 800 people located around the globe. We are SAPs technical foundation and proud that our innovations are used by over 12 million people in 120 countries.

The position can be filled as part time position.

Summary & Role Information:

Were looking for a motivated and talented people manager who wants to embark on an exciting journey to create, maintain & support high quality core technology components with care and attention to detail. We follow agile software engineering methods and are always in close contact with our customers and stakeholders to acquire early feedback and support them in their mission-critical implementations around the world.

The ABAP Kernel Brno team is responsible for key infrastructure components delivered with the ABAP Kernel, required to efficiently operate, integrate and monitor the ABAP platform, e.g., in a cloud environment. The team consists of highly motivated developers located in our labs in Brno and works closely with our teams in Walldorf (Germany).

Your Future Role

As a team leader, you will be expected to:

  1. Lead a team of developers, providing guidance and support.

  2. Use your technical background to grasp and analyze technical problems quickly.

  3. Align customer needs with the development of our components.

  4. Support less experienced team members to understand the complexity of modern software development.

  5. Foster excitement and empathy towards our customers, products, and employees

  6. Regularly communicate and align with our globally based management team.

Required skills:

  • Either a university degree in a technical discipline or corresponding experience in a role requiring technical and analytical abilities (ex. Product Owner, Scrum Master, Project Management roles).

  • 3 years of professional working experience in software development, preferably with a Team Leading scope

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Fluency in English.

  • The ability to motivate and lead employees.

  • Ability to manage conflicts.

  • Strong customer and quality focus.

  • Agile development methodologies and tools.

  • Proven project management experience.

Beneficial skills:

  • Previous experience in C/C development on operating system or network level.

  • Knowledge about various cloud technologies- and products.

  • ABAP and/or Kernel development experience and technical understanding.

  • Czech language on communicative level.
