Instruments Sales Representative III

As part of an outstanding team of scientists and business professionals at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you’ll have the unique opportunity to make a real-world impact by leading all aspects of the sales process in a multi-state sales territory for our Molecular Spectroscopy instruments (FT-IR, NIR, Raman). We are dedicated to providing instrument solutions that help meet our industrial, academic and government customer's needs in research and development, quality control, process improvements, and education.

What you'll do:

  • Schedule and coordinate face-to-face technical interactions with customers. Lead product demonstrations in collaboration with your applications support team to deliver detailed presentations to customers.

  • Provide input in technical consultation and problem-solving to meet customer needs.

  • Meet or exceed established sales goals by delivering bookings commitments in accordance with business unit targets.

  • Build and implement strategies and tactical plans to drive growth.

  • Identify, interpret, and respond to customer’s requirements in line with the division’s capabilities.

  • Share information about upcoming bookings with management and the rest of the organization to ensure everyone is aware of our performance and can deliver products and services on time.

  • Drive collaboration and accountability through improved sales pipeline and forecast management processes by using sales tools like Salesforce.

  • Work with product management teams and make recommendations based on an understanding of marketing and new product plans.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related sciences.

  • Proficient analytical skills with the ability to make observations from market trends and customer demand.

  • Comfortable leading discussions, giving presentations in-person or remotely.

  • Proven technical sales or hands-on experience with scientific instrumentation.

  • Willingness to travel up to 50% or more as needed within the sales region.

  • Resides within the primary sales territory (NY, CT).

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in New York is $77,800.00–$116,650.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
