What You'll Do:

The Lead Steward will provide direct and general leadership to the steward team in the central kitchen to support Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center's values and business needs. Duties may include but are not limited to a variety of tasks such as cleaning, organizing, sanitizing, inventory, food safety, and helping with other kitchen duties. This position is responsible for ensuring sanitation and chemical inventory levels are satisfactory for the business needs. Other responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces and equipment. This position will present itself in a professional manner and demonstrate excellent guest service and communication skills. Housing may be available on a first-come, first-served basis, based on position. Full-time, year-round opportunity with benefits eligibility.

Position starts at $22.00/hr. + DOE

Responsibilities:

  • Train, Develops and monitors steward team members, working in conjunction with culinary leadership team.

  • Understands department objectives, standards, guidelines and to achieve effective operation of department; partners with leadership to adjust daily schedule according to business levels.

  • Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized.

  • Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks.

  • Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.

  • Properly washes, stacks, and stores China, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers.

  • Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels, and properly uses chemical dilutions set by EcoLab.

  • Assists in the timely storing of food deliveries.

  • Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.

  • Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.

  • Follows the posted daily dish cleaning duties.

  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed.

    What You'll Bring:

  • 1+ years restaurant experience - required, experience in a resort establishment - preferred

  • 1+ year experience overseeing Steward operations - required

  • Demonstrated understanding of kitchen operations.

  • High school diploma or GED - preferred

  • Culinary degree or apprenticeship or experience equal to - preferred

  • Proficient at written and verbal communication in English - required

  • Spanish speaking a plus

  • ServSafe - preferred or ability to obtain
