Position Title: Associate Manager, Marketing – Home & Commercial

Location: Brampton, ON

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Marketing

Position Overview

The Marketing Associate is a member of the Marketing team on the Newell Brands Canada Home & Commercial business - with a dedicated focus on our B2B and Rubbermaid Commercial Products businesses. The Marketing Associate assists and supports the Senior Manager of Marketing and the extended team with coordination, execution, and management of marketing activities to support the successful implementation of seasonal initiatives, campaigns and brand activations.

This position will act as an essential partner to help commercialize global brand initiatives for the Canadian market as well as plan and activate content creation, social, PR, paid media, sales collateral, trade shows, packaging and labels. This role is a true brand champion and ensures brand messaging is consistent and is delivering upon consumer needs. The Marketing Associate is a hands-on contributor working closely with global teams, helping develop and manage tools as well as processes to ensure successful implementations and reporting on results.

Key responsibilities:

· Marketing Activation: Assist in leading all in-market activation efforts such as media, experiential, and sampling. Track, report, and optimize performance. Execute annual brand plan activities for ongoing and major marketing campaigns. Manage relationships with external agencies for campaign execution.

· Public Relations: Support PR agency with brand and product insights. Monitor and optimize PR plans. Oversee brand partnerships, influencer collaborations, and PR events. Manage ad hoc sample requests and PR-related activities.

· Point-of-Purchase Activation: Develop and execute annual customer marketing plans. Manage media, sampling, and activation aligned with promotional calendars. Lead the design and development of in-store materials. Monitor and evaluate in-store performance.

· Brand Stewardship: Activate brand activities in line with brand identity and guidelines. Support the articulation of the brand's vision for short and long-term success.

· Cluster Growth Plans: Deliver on cluster objectives by partnering with regional marketing. Utilize POS and consumer/shopper data to develop and optimize activation plans. Track brand metrics and ensure alignment with activation activities.

· New Product Launch: Support product launches in the cluster. Localize and amplify launch toolkits. Drive new product merchandising activities and activation tactics. Provide input on relevant innovation programs.

· JBPs Support: Collaborate with sales on Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and Line Reviews. Make product mix recommendations at customer level. Support promotional planning for key channels/customers.

· Global Team Member: Act as the connection point between Canada and Global teams; staying up to date on new market activities and working closely to commercialize new products and campaigns.

· Competitor Tracking & Reporting: Regularly audit competitor product launches and activities in the cluster.

· Budget Management: Manage budget in collaboration with the Marketing Manager. Plan, track, and report on annual budget. Meticulously oversee monthly spending and budget allocations. Manage purchase orders.

Qualifications:

· University degree with a focus on business, marketing, or related field

· 2-4 years of demonstrated experience working with a leading consumer goods company (Channel Marketing, Trade Marketing, Brand Management, Brand Activation or related position)

· Experience working in a B2B environment considered a strong asset

· Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and software like MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

· Familiarity with syndicated data sources

· Willingness to travel 10% of the time

· Strong strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple projects

· Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

· Multi-channel experience and understanding of shopper/consumer behaviour.

· Team player mentality with the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment.

· Exceptional time and budget management skills.

· Proficiency in conducting detailed analysis and making fact-based recommendations.
