Bozeman Health Application Team Supervisor (FT- 1 fte) in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Application Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing applications within the application environment. Responsibilities include: leading a team of individuals through an application implementation; providing instruction on various technical topics to other team members, educating/training new hires, providing mentorship to team members, managing an application project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives and monitoring a project plan while reporting project changes and status to project managers and supervisor. Leads team members on optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades, and fixing system defects. Serves as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirement and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, workflow and data integrity. Works with cross functional teams and end users by providing education on system functionality and configuration of new tools to increase end user productivity within the application. Ensures system changes follow change management procedures and protocols, create and maintain all documentation for all assigned applications and develop, plan and execute testing for supported applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration or equivalent work experience

  • Epic certification within 6 months of hire, if applicable

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare IT experience

  • Preferred: 5-7 years healthcare IT experience

  • Preferred: Epic or relevant third-party application certification

  • Preferred: HL7 knowledge and experience

  • Preferred: 3 - 5 years of Resource or Project Management

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists department leadership with broad operations to ensure the provision of comprehensive departmental services in compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital requirements.

  • Ensures a collaborative departmental approach to long-range strategic operational planning, care and service design and development of organizational policies, which reflect the mission of the organization.

  • Coordinates and oversees the organization-wide departmental services. Continuously assesses, measures and improves departmental performance.

  • Demonstrates responsible management of all departmental resources.

  • Demonstrates clinical/technical and managerial competency. Ensures staff professional needs are met.

  • Leads, teaches, inspires, helps and consistently demonstrates hospital behavioral standards

  • Demonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times

  • Creativity, problem analysis and decision making

  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality

  • Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications; MS Office, EMR, internet applications etc.

  • Ability to work varied shifts
