Job Description:

ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) is a tool utilized by privately held businesses to generate liquidity, transition ownership and attract/retain talent. As member of Bank of America’s ESOP Finance & Advisory’s national practice, this position will support client teams (Relationship Management and Enterprise Credit) and GWIM advisors with all banking & finance aspects of Employee Stock Ownership Plans. Primary goals will be to drive loan outstandings, revenue growth and new logos, as well as increasing investment management opportunities (AUM) for GWIM within Bank of America’s risk framework. The Sr. Relationship Manager (Sr. RM) will work with client-facing associates to drive advisory dialogue with privately-held business owners and C-suite of clients and prospects through use of employee ownership as a business ownership succession and strategic exit alternative generating credit and investment management opportunities while deepening relationships, conversion of prospects to clients, and maintaining a robust presence in the ESOP community (COI’s, Associations, Conferences, etc.)

Office location flexible to any current GCB office.

Responsibilities:

  • Cover assigned Global Commercial Banking and GWIM Markets

  • Generate new opportunities by executing ESOP Finance & Advisory’s Go-to-Market Strategy

  • Work in partnership with Global Commercial Banking and GWIM partners on all aspects, strategies, and credit & finance considerations related to leveraged ESOP’s.

  • Advise Relationship Management, Enterprise Credit, and GWIM teams and their Risk organizations on all aspects of leveraged ESOPs, act as the bank’s subject matter expert to covered markets

  • Represent Bank of America in national and regional ESOP associations and events

  • Lead client discussions around leveraged ESOP dynamics (structure, pricing, lender behavior, regulatory environment, etc.), capital planning, and Bank of America capabilities

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 7-10 years of commercial banking experience including proven track record of originating and executing leveraged transactions

  • Highly developed sales, communication, presentation and credit structuring skills

  • Strong credibility within their LOB/Region/Market

  • Strong influencing, negotiation, persuasion, time management, and communication skills

  • Strong understanding of general financial concepts, working knowledge of Leveraged ESOPs and leveraged finance

  • Financial modeling experience and the completion of a formal credit training is required.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating with a team of bank associates to solve client problems.

  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series 7 & 63 (Must obtain SIE, Series 7 & 63 license within 180 days of start date)

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with GWIM’s wealth management solutions and platforms

  • Experience with BAC’s Leveraged Finance, PSRN, and Investment Banking capabilities

  • Strong advisory sales management and relationship skills

  • Strong executive presence and leadership skills

  • Undergraduate degree preferred: Majors in business, finance or economics preferred. MBA desirable.
